00:00:00.440 --> 00:00:02.482
Welcome back to Deep Dive Dialogues.
00:00:02.482 --> 00:00:33.645
I'm your host, dan Warheide, and before I get started, I'm just going to say I'm using the Shure MV7 Plus, and the reason I say that is because now I'm really curious scheduled to record this episode, our lawn guys decided that they want to be outside blowing and weed, eating and whatever else to make as much background noise as possible, so I'm going to find out if that comes through today.
00:00:33.645 --> 00:00:36.533
Anyway, I'm so excited.
00:00:36.533 --> 00:00:41.186
This past week I offered a free email challenge Over seven days.
00:00:41.186 --> 00:00:52.932
I facilitated this daily challenge that included reflection questions and action steps for people to work on, and I also provided various resources to accompany each day's challenge.
00:00:52.932 --> 00:01:02.420
And I want to say this wasn't your usual workbook activity or some sort of guided review.
00:01:02.661 --> 00:01:05.510
I think many of you can relate to what I'm talking about.
00:01:05.510 --> 00:01:13.662
You sign up for a challenge and it's a simple review, essentially, of something you might have already learned or gone through.
00:01:13.662 --> 00:01:15.667
It was much more than that.
00:01:15.667 --> 00:01:23.269
It was more about finding clarity and building connection and intentionally taking actions.
00:01:23.269 --> 00:01:49.656
The stories and the breakthroughs that have come out of this past week that were shared with me I have found incredible, incredibly rewarding for me as a facilitator and rewarding just to see the actions and the oh my goodness the reflections and the different clarity or clarifying moments that people chose to share with me.
00:01:49.656 --> 00:01:52.649
It's been just an amazing feeling.
00:01:52.649 --> 00:02:17.492
Listen, if you've ever been stuck, if you're unsure about your next steps or you're overwhelmed by all the what ifs of building your coaching business, then I'm going to say that this episode is for you, because we're going to talk about what worked, the challenges that came up that participants chose to share with me, and the lessons that you can take to move your own business forward.
00:02:17.492 --> 00:02:34.889
If you're interested in learning more about what was included in this challenge, I'm putting together sort of a summary PDF that has all of the daily questions, the challenges and the resources that I shared, and I hope to have that available later this week.
00:02:34.889 --> 00:02:45.430
So if you'd like to get a copy of that, feel free to email me, dan at danwus, and put email PDF in the subject line.
00:02:45.430 --> 00:02:49.991
As soon as it's ready, I will be sure to send a copy of that out to you.
00:02:49.991 --> 00:03:04.473
I hope that you'll stick around also to the end of this episode, because I'm going to share a little something new that I've put together and I well I hope you'll stay to hear what that's all about.
00:03:04.473 --> 00:03:10.033
Well, I hope you'll stay to hear what that's all about, but before I get there, wow, I need to learn to talk for a podcast, don't I?
00:03:10.033 --> 00:03:11.375
Before I get there?
00:03:11.375 --> 00:03:31.618
I just want to cover the content that I intended to start with, just taking a moment to celebrate the incredible wins that came out of this challenge, based on what was shared with me throughout the week.
00:03:32.420 --> 00:03:40.514
Some of the participants stated, shared, emailed me that they were able to connect with new clients.
00:03:40.514 --> 00:03:51.592
Others had gained clarity in their niches and many of them took their first steps towards being able to confidently price their coaching programs.
00:03:51.592 --> 00:04:08.206
One participant shared, for example, that she had been challenged with networking with her peers or other coaches, and she challenged herself during this past week to network with five new coaches within the community that we are both a part of.
00:04:08.206 --> 00:04:17.869
Not only did she do that, but she ended up connecting with five more coaches unexpectedly.
00:04:17.869 --> 00:04:35.086
Another one shared that they had realized completing a certification that they had previously started could open the door to being able to serve new clients in a whole new way that actually felt more aligned with where she wanted to serve.
00:04:35.086 --> 00:04:51.232
There were breakthroughs in defining their big whys, identifying their next steps and, more importantly, this one I loved is finally feeling alive with my vision for my coaching and my business.
00:04:51.232 --> 00:05:19.822
That was one that was shared with me and I really loved that, but, all in all, I think that the stories, the wins, the next steps and breakthroughs that were shared with me really lend themselves well to show that success really isn't about trying to do everything all at once, but being able to build momentum, one small step, one small win at a time.
00:05:19.822 --> 00:05:23.824
So take a moment and think about this for a second.
00:05:23.824 --> 00:05:29.206
What is one small step that you can take today that aligns with your vision?
00:05:29.206 --> 00:05:31.286
It doesn't have to be perfect.
00:05:31.286 --> 00:05:34.947
The key is it just has to move you forward.
00:05:37.629 --> 00:05:58.576
Last week was a journey for many of the participants, as they've shared with me, but that doesn't mean it was also without challenges and I don't mean any pun by that, because it was a free challenge that I conducted by email but it did have its own set of challenges.
00:05:58.576 --> 00:06:01.778
Here's some that were shared with me throughout the week.
00:06:01.778 --> 00:06:21.526
Some of the participants stated that they were struggling with pricing and I sort of alluded to this and I'm going to come back to this in a minute as well, but feeling that they're unsure about what to charge for their services as compared to what their services are worth or how much value that they bring.
00:06:21.526 --> 00:06:29.427
And I think this is a common challenge or struggle for many people who are new to the business of coaching.
00:06:29.427 --> 00:07:06.230
Now, I don't like the phrase new coach, because too often I've heard someone say that they are a new coach, yet in the statements that precede or follow, they talk about the tremendously valuable experiences that lend themselves well to the world of coaching, simply because they've just decided to start coaching as a business or formally coaching as a means to serve other people, or maybe they've just obtained some certification for coaching or even working on obtaining a certification.
00:07:06.230 --> 00:07:19.019
It seems that when they get to this place, they somehow forget all of the value that they already bring to the table and it's like their confidence is instantly diminished for some reason.
00:07:19.019 --> 00:07:23.509
And I want to, if you've ever felt that way.
00:07:23.509 --> 00:07:36.850
I just want to take a second to encourage you, because you do already possess a world of value and simply because you have taken the next step towards pursuing your dream.
00:07:36.850 --> 00:07:41.084
I think the biggest thing is that it's new to you.
00:07:41.084 --> 00:07:59.168
It's new to anyone who is moving outside of the known for something in the unknown, because you know, when you move into self-employment you don't know exactly how much or when that next check is going to be.
00:07:59.168 --> 00:08:05.389
But you can do things to align yourself well where that becomes a bit more predictable.
00:08:05.389 --> 00:08:11.100
That's probably a different conversation, but I digress.
00:08:11.560 --> 00:08:23.932
I was really here sharing about the challenges or the struggles that some of the participants shared with me, so I want to come back to this pricing conversation and the value conversation in a few minutes.
00:08:23.932 --> 00:08:28.242
Pricing conversation and the value conversation in a few minutes.
00:08:28.242 --> 00:08:33.692
Some of the participants shared with me that their pricing was a big challenge, and I get that.
00:08:33.692 --> 00:08:43.134
You want to help everyone and at the same time, I think you need to recognize your value and that your time is not infinite.
00:08:43.134 --> 00:08:44.485
Your time is finite.
00:08:44.485 --> 00:09:22.046
So I believe that there are ways to serve many of the people that you're passionate about serving, but you have to first recognize that you need to honor yourself and the business of coaching to create a sustainable sustainable see, I can't talk today but create a sustainable income from our coaching so that you can get creative in the other ways that you can serve other people, and I'm talking specifically about those who don't necessarily meet the criteria that you've set out for your programs or your offers or your price point.
00:09:22.046 --> 00:09:34.354
Maybe they can't afford to pay for your coaching right now, and there are creative ways that you can share with them, but you first need to serve yourself.
00:09:35.340 --> 00:09:48.326
So other participants had shared with me that you know they had struggled with the fear of visibility, being able to put themselves out there and simply connecting with people, especially when it came to potential clients.
00:09:48.326 --> 00:10:06.475
They said it felt daunting and of course, that ties right into the imposter syndrome, so to speak, and there's been some conversations that I've been studying around the fact not the fact, I wouldn't say it's a fact, but the idea that imposter syndrome doesn't really exist.
00:10:06.475 --> 00:10:25.230
It was a phrase coined in the world of psychology, but there are arguments that imposter syndrome isn't the syndrome itself, that there are other things that feed that, and the name that they've given it is called imposter syndrome.
00:10:25.230 --> 00:10:27.163
That's a different conversation as well.
00:10:27.163 --> 00:10:29.710
But questions like am I good enough?
00:10:29.710 --> 00:10:34.788
Do I need to get another certification before I can call myself a coach?
00:10:35.509 --> 00:10:44.514
And let me tell you, I was taking a course over this past week online that someone had sent to me and it was only $25.
00:10:44.514 --> 00:10:46.238
So I thought I'd just check it out.
00:10:46.238 --> 00:11:03.544
It was actually a really good course by a coach in the UK, and he follows a lot of the same philosophies, that being those of Rich Lidfin and Steve Chandler, in how he approaches coaching and marketing and some of the other things that I've talked about here.
00:11:03.544 --> 00:11:21.643
But I was taking this course and that's one of the things he mentioned in there I thought was intriguing that he didn't have the requirements that would allow him to participate in group discussions with ICF communities as an example.
00:11:21.643 --> 00:11:23.846
So he's not certified by the ICF.
00:11:23.846 --> 00:11:28.081
I don't know what other certifications he may or may not have.
00:11:28.081 --> 00:11:43.924
He didn't really talk about his certifications, nor did I hear anyone, and he was doing a recording of a live training he had offered and I didn't hear anyone asking about his certifications, and that's been my experience too.
00:11:43.985 --> 00:11:52.296
You know I've been doing this since officially I okay, officially I got my first coaching certification, if you will, in 2010.
00:11:52.296 --> 00:12:21.708
That's when I first dove Ramsey as a financial coach and from that point on I've been coaching in some way, shape or form, you know, officially and unofficially, and I have never run into that conversation.
00:12:21.708 --> 00:12:34.890
You know, tell me what certifications you have In fact, I'll go a step above that and that I've positioned myself so that I don't really entertain the conversation of answering the question why should I work with you?
00:12:34.890 --> 00:13:04.995
Instead, I prefer to help people to experience who I am and what I bring to the table through the experience of coaching, versus trying to explain what coaching may be able to do for them, because I don't know, and they don't know if coaching will work, until we sit down and have that conversation about what it is that you're facing and you know, brainstorming through those hurdles and what that looks like for each person.
00:13:04.995 --> 00:13:31.092
It's different, and so my approach is more about serving and doing the best I can to serve others, and in that process we determine if we click, if we're a good fit, if coaching from me is going to be beneficial for that person and if working with that person is going to likewise light me up and be beneficial for me.
00:13:31.092 --> 00:13:37.211
It's a mutually beneficial relationship if we enter into an agreement to coach together.
00:13:38.835 --> 00:13:39.696
I digress again.
00:13:39.696 --> 00:14:08.985
So can I truly call myself a coach is where I left off, but what I really loved seeing was how participants from my challenge started to share that these beliefs were shifting throughout the week, and it may not seem like a lot of time, but it's amazing what you can uncover for yourself with a few well-placed questions or a few daily intentional actions that you can take.
00:14:08.985 --> 00:14:21.099
They started to embrace that coaching is really from my perspective at least about connection and it's not about having the perfect solution.
00:14:21.099 --> 00:14:33.437
They shared with me that they realized taking action, no matter how imperfect it was, is better and produces better results than trying to overthink themselves into inaction.
00:14:33.437 --> 00:14:38.975
So if you're listening and if you've been holding back for some reason, there's your nudge.
00:14:38.975 --> 00:14:39.336
Right.
00:14:39.816 --> 00:14:44.745
You don't need to be perfect to make a difference in the life of another person.
00:14:44.745 --> 00:14:47.458
You don't have to have the perfect answer.
00:14:47.458 --> 00:14:51.841
You don't have to have the right resource or the perfect solution.
00:14:51.841 --> 00:15:04.033
You just have to have the desire and some level of knowledge to help another person level of knowledge to help another person.
00:15:04.033 --> 00:15:05.879
And if you have that desire, you can make a positive impact in someone else's life.
00:15:05.879 --> 00:15:14.520
And here's the truth about it, right, if you're a coach and you're not coaching your butt off and working every day.
00:15:14.600 --> 00:15:18.676
So each time you coach someone, you're working on improving your coaching skills.
00:15:18.676 --> 00:15:32.443
You're listening to not just your clients, but you're listening to yourself and you know when you leave that session where some things are that you could work on improving through that process.
00:15:32.443 --> 00:15:35.350
So each coaching session you're learning something.
00:15:35.350 --> 00:15:39.176
You're supposed to be out there coaching people, coaching your butt off.
00:15:39.176 --> 00:16:06.236
You're supposed to be out there coaching people, coaching your butt off, sharing your knowledge, sharing your questions, your curiosity about someone else and working to make a difference, and each time you do that, I believe that you can make more of a difference in someone's life, that the difference you can make becomes more powerful, more practiced.
00:16:06.125 --> 00:16:29.143
If you will not rehearsed because I don't ever want anyone to go in I don't think going into a coaching session with any kind of script is beneficial for either the client or the coach, and if that's your approach, I'm not knocking it if it works for you especially, but for me, I'm working to make a much more valuable, longer lasting impact every time I go into a session, and so I'm genuinely curious about what comes up in each session.
00:16:29.143 --> 00:16:43.322
And when I leave those sessions, I reflect on not just what was shared with me, but where I could make a bigger impact and more positive influence and bring about more transformation in the future.
00:16:43.322 --> 00:16:48.481
Those are the things that I work on in each session and I, you know, continually try to improve.
00:16:48.481 --> 00:17:00.255
So, all right, let's shift gears a little bit, because I want to talk about, really, some of the powerful insights that came from this challenge that were shared with me as well.
00:17:00.255 --> 00:17:06.365
One of the things that stood out were the insights around the importance of value-based pricing.
00:17:07.211 --> 00:17:08.557
I told you I was coming back to this.
00:17:08.557 --> 00:17:21.530
Instead of pricing on what you think people will pay, I encourage you to start thinking about the transformation that we were just talking about that you're bringing to people's lives.
00:17:21.530 --> 00:17:28.011
What is the positive outcomes that you're bringing to these sessions and to the people that you're serving?
00:17:28.011 --> 00:17:31.121
One of the participants shared with me.
00:17:31.121 --> 00:17:34.892
They put it beautifully, and I'm looking at my note here.
00:17:34.892 --> 00:17:42.505
I know I provide a lot of value and can change a person's life, and isn't that what we just talked about?
00:17:42.505 --> 00:17:44.056
Right, that's what coaching is.
00:17:44.056 --> 00:17:47.140
It's about changing lives for the better.
00:17:48.270 --> 00:17:51.900
So if you're struggling with this one, I want to chat with you for a moment.
00:17:51.900 --> 00:17:58.060
Here's the thing, and I've said it before it's worth digging into this one again, at least a little bit.
00:17:58.060 --> 00:18:00.236
You are not new.
00:18:00.236 --> 00:18:04.295
Digging into this one again at least a little bit.
00:18:04.295 --> 00:18:04.717
You are not new.
00:18:04.717 --> 00:18:08.207
Maybe you're new to the business of being a coach or you're new to the title, but you're not new to the world.
00:18:08.207 --> 00:18:16.375
Chances are, if you're listening to me right now, you already have a tremendous amount of value that you bring to your coaching.
00:18:16.375 --> 00:18:17.900
You bring that to the table.
00:18:18.040 --> 00:18:26.663
Everything you've done, all of the challenges you've faced, all of the education you've received, both formal and informal education.
00:18:26.663 --> 00:18:35.596
You know all of the training courses that you've participated in taking, all of the different life experiences.
00:18:35.596 --> 00:18:38.382
You know I've been divorced two times.
00:18:38.382 --> 00:18:54.334
I'm not proud of that, but I've absolutely learned from those things in the relationships that I maintain I don't know what the right word is, but you know, in my relationships I have applied the knowledge of the lessons that I have learned In my coaching.
00:18:54.334 --> 00:19:02.519
I have applied the knowledge of all of the lessons that I have learned in various capacities and I'm able to share those experiences with people.
00:19:02.519 --> 00:19:03.915
So I was there.
00:19:03.915 --> 00:19:04.994
I was right there.
00:19:05.095 --> 00:19:11.059
Right when I started coaching, I was like who am I to do this and what experience or value do I have to offer?
00:19:11.059 --> 00:19:41.383
And until I started being able to reflect on all of those things that I bring to the table that inventory list I talked about it in a previous episode right, take inventory of all of those things that led you to where you are today and that will help you to start seeing the value that you already have to offer, and it might even help you narrow down where it is you want to focus your efforts.
00:19:41.383 --> 00:19:43.733
So I encourage you.
00:19:43.733 --> 00:19:46.359
If you've not done that, do a personal inventory.
00:19:46.359 --> 00:20:08.335
Take the time whether it's an hour or two hours or a whole day to sit down and literally write out all of those experiences, all of those education opportunities, formal and informal all of the challenges that you've figured out how to navigate yourself or had help with navigating what did that look like?
00:20:08.335 --> 00:20:10.136
And all of those components.
00:20:10.136 --> 00:20:11.536
Take time to write them down.
00:20:11.536 --> 00:20:16.079
That is a wealth of information knowledge.
00:20:16.079 --> 00:20:22.642
Knowledge is power, but, more importantly, there's tremendous value in what you're going to uncover.
00:20:22.642 --> 00:20:36.425
So that value is what's helping people solve their challenges and be able to create transformation in their lives, in their work and in their businesses.
00:20:37.291 --> 00:20:40.260
What you offer is life-changing right.
00:20:40.260 --> 00:20:43.432
What you offer is life-changing right.
00:20:43.432 --> 00:20:44.934
I'm going to say what you offer is life-changing.
00:20:44.934 --> 00:20:48.482
It doesn't matter whether you've just decided to put the title on or not.
00:20:48.482 --> 00:20:56.252
Many of the people that I've spoken with have powerful stories and testimonies of all of the things I've just shared.
00:20:56.252 --> 00:21:08.093
These stories, these experiences, are saving countless hours for other people in the form of making the same mistakes that you may have already made before them, for the right person.
00:21:08.093 --> 00:21:14.751
And remember, we are only ever seeking one conversation, one person, one client at a time.
00:21:14.751 --> 00:21:23.424
The person who wants badly enough to make the change that you can help them with will be willing to pay you for that change.
00:21:23.424 --> 00:21:33.244
Again, I understand, not everybody's in the position to pay you what you might like to charge, and that's okay.
00:21:33.244 --> 00:21:38.362
Make a decision as to whether or not you want to be creative and figure out a way that's going to serve them.
00:21:38.362 --> 00:21:46.790
You want to be creative and figure out a way that's going to serve them, or if you're going to stick to the price that you have set for your services and figure out other creative ways to serve them.
00:21:46.790 --> 00:22:03.492
Maybe it's through creating educational content, videos that you can share, or maybe you create an online course that serves a particular audience that might not be a perfect or great fit for your one-on-one coaching or your group program, or whatever it is that you're offering.
00:22:05.336 --> 00:22:07.480
So I want to add in this.
00:22:07.480 --> 00:22:22.353
I just read this last night in a book that I'm reading and I don't have it in front of me, so, honestly, I don't recall the title at the moment or the author, but it's a book on the service-based industry and around selling.
00:22:22.353 --> 00:22:23.717
Actually, there's the title.
00:22:23.717 --> 00:22:36.230
It's called Selling the Invisible and there was a perfect reminder in there about showing up and it was be where everyone else is not.
00:22:36.230 --> 00:22:48.212
So I don't know why that stood out to me right this second, but I felt compared to share it here at this point in the episode, and so I want to pause here and share a little bit more from maybe that thought.
00:22:48.212 --> 00:22:50.458
So be where everyone else is not.
00:22:50.518 --> 00:22:58.980
This goes back to the connection piece and what I see in the world of coaching, especially in the online space.
00:22:58.980 --> 00:22:59.821
That's where I'm going with.
00:22:59.821 --> 00:23:01.431
This is the online space.
00:23:01.431 --> 00:23:11.691
I've talked before about marketing and sales and I don't think it's not for me that's.
00:23:11.691 --> 00:23:40.538
I'll just say that you know online marketing as far as offering my coaching services, the extent of my online marketing is really sharing this podcast with you, and through my social media channels, I do share these episodes as well, or at least links to encourage people to go listen to these episodes if it's for them, and I'm working very hard to build connections where I see that most coaches are not.
00:23:40.538 --> 00:24:08.871
Most coaches are looking for the easy way to do business, the easy way to create clients, so they constantly flood their social media feeds with these posts about what they can offer and these posts about what services they have available right now and how they can bring about transformation to you, and I see a lot of the coaching community in that space.
00:24:08.871 --> 00:24:20.261
Where I don't see a lot of coaches working to make a difference is in-person networking and relationships, so that's where I prefer and enjoy spending my time.
00:24:20.261 --> 00:24:22.626
That leads to.
00:24:23.268 --> 00:24:36.903
Another recurring theme from this past week was the power of connection, because, again, coaching isn't about hard sales or any kind of gimmicks or about any of those things in marketing.
00:24:36.903 --> 00:24:40.214
It's about having meaningful conversations with people.
00:24:40.214 --> 00:25:09.549
One participant shared with me how they resonated with Rich Litvin's philosophy one of the resources I shared about connecting deeply or not connecting at all, and I happen to align with what she shared with me and I've shared it here before that my preference is to think about people I want to connect with or people I want to spend time with at my backyard barbecue, and these are people who want to have more than just surface level conversations.
00:25:09.549 --> 00:25:14.210
Now I realize that there's a transition from surface level to deeper conversations.
00:25:14.210 --> 00:25:17.380
They don't always start with because it's not natural.
00:25:17.380 --> 00:25:23.123
They don't always start with world problems to talk about.
00:25:23.123 --> 00:25:30.736
You know, they start with where their comfort level is, and maybe that's talking about the favorite beers or the differences in beers.
00:25:31.076 --> 00:25:33.821
I go back to that because I'm not a beer snob.
00:25:33.821 --> 00:25:35.332
I do enjoy a good beer.
00:25:35.332 --> 00:25:48.544
I spent several years in Germany and I had some wonderful experiences with beer there and I'm probably more of a beer snob than others, but I wouldn't characterize myself that way.
00:25:48.544 --> 00:25:50.056
I just enjoy a good beer.
00:25:50.056 --> 00:25:53.278
So do I want to talk about the differences in beers?
00:25:53.278 --> 00:25:53.538
Though?
00:25:53.538 --> 00:25:54.060
Not really.
00:25:54.060 --> 00:25:56.238
I want to get to more meaningful conversation.
00:25:56.238 --> 00:26:00.538
I want to get to the heart of different challenges that we see.
00:26:01.201 --> 00:26:06.538
Why did we find a barrel of cocaine in Cape Canaveral this week?
00:26:06.538 --> 00:26:14.239
We, being the Coast Guard, reported that they had found an entire drum barrel of cocaine.
00:26:14.239 --> 00:26:18.011
There was some jokes going around on social media, of course, about it snowing here.
00:26:18.011 --> 00:26:24.141
Being in Florida, that hope you get the references there and if you don't feel free to ask.
00:26:24.141 --> 00:27:02.392
Anyway, that that is the foundation for building trust and finding your ideal clients, connecting deeply, getting beyond the surface level with people, and I think the best way to do that again, is through physical relationships like networking in person, talking to people face-to-face and a good substitution for face-to-face is through online media, such as having a Zoom call with someone, because coaching let's be real it's an online business, meaning you can do it remotely from just about anywhere in the world.
00:27:02.392 --> 00:27:13.298
So you know, those platforms do offer a good means of having a face-to-face conversation, so to speak, while you are not in person.
00:27:13.298 --> 00:27:31.730
The second best thing I think you can do in person, I believe, is the easiest, most authentic way to connect with other people and build the relationships and work towards identifying ideal clients for your business.
00:27:33.472 --> 00:27:41.702
So, if you're feeling stuck, I made a quick list of a couple of actions that you can take right now, today.
00:27:41.702 --> 00:27:44.885
Start doing for you, your life, your business.
00:27:44.885 --> 00:27:46.715
Write down your big why.
00:27:46.715 --> 00:27:48.234
Why do you coach?
00:27:48.234 --> 00:27:49.674
What drives you?
00:27:49.674 --> 00:27:55.222
I encourage you to go back and listen to I think it was episode two of this podcast.
00:27:55.222 --> 00:28:03.115
I talked more about uncovering your why as well in that one and what it is that you want, because I believe they're tied together.
00:28:03.115 --> 00:28:22.003
That essentially starts with making a list of 50 things you want, and when you do that, you know that will lead you to some of the things in life that lead to why you're doing what you're doing, and it's important that you remember you first right.
00:28:22.003 --> 00:28:28.383
It's not just about serving others at the cost of sacrificing you.
00:28:28.383 --> 00:28:39.318
I want you to be prosperous in your world, in your business, in your life, just as much as you want to serve your clients and help them be prosperous.
00:28:39.338 --> 00:28:47.253
Okay, next one is to identify or define to the best of your ability what your ideal client looks like.
00:28:47.253 --> 00:28:49.026
Who is it that you connect with?
00:28:49.026 --> 00:28:50.626
Who is it that you serve best?
00:28:50.626 --> 00:28:55.211
Who is it that lights you up when you're able to have a conversation?
00:28:55.211 --> 00:28:57.200
What are the qualities and characteristics?
00:28:57.200 --> 00:29:06.615
Not necessarily that they're male or female, or that they're in a particular industry or any of those other things we think of when we think of niche.
00:29:06.615 --> 00:29:09.868
I want you to define really what are the qualities.
00:29:09.868 --> 00:29:10.109
Right?
00:29:10.109 --> 00:29:11.305
Are you an action taker?
00:29:11.305 --> 00:29:18.213
Are you committed to achieving the things which you desire in your life and in your business?
00:29:18.213 --> 00:29:22.548
Those are the kinds of people that I want to work with.
00:29:22.548 --> 00:29:23.351
Right?
00:29:23.351 --> 00:29:27.550
Does the world of coaching and online business light you up?
00:29:27.550 --> 00:29:29.005
Does it energize you?
00:29:29.005 --> 00:29:35.492
I don't want to work with someone who's not energized by this kind of work, because that's not fun for me.
00:29:35.492 --> 00:29:42.854
And I want my world, my life and my business to be tied together, and I want them to be fun.
00:29:42.854 --> 00:29:46.780
I want them to be filled with love and excitement and enthusiasm.
00:29:46.780 --> 00:29:50.208
So who is it that you serve best?
00:29:51.369 --> 00:29:54.342
And then I want to encourage you to start a gratitude practice.
00:29:54.342 --> 00:30:03.431
I shared this in the challenge as well as a resource per se, but and I might have shared it on this podcast I know I've shared it on the other shows I created at some point.
00:30:03.431 --> 00:30:12.015
But the gratitude practice, not just for your wins, but for the lessons that come with the challenges you face, because those are wins too.
00:30:12.015 --> 00:30:19.453
On the other side of a challenge, if you can go back and identify what you've learned, that is a win.
00:30:19.453 --> 00:30:27.477
It doesn't matter how small wins might seem or how difficult something may have seemed at the time.
00:30:27.477 --> 00:30:30.598
If there is a lesson that you've learned, that counts as a win.
00:30:30.598 --> 00:30:39.434
And I want to encourage you to simply start a practice of, at the end of the day, writing down three good things that happened throughout your day.
00:30:39.434 --> 00:30:45.813
Now this practice and I'm going to encourage you, if you interested to find out more about it, to go do a little homework.
00:30:47.781 --> 00:30:56.115
But Dr Martin Seligman, commonly referred to as the founder of positive psychology, he and some colleagues did a study.
00:30:56.115 --> 00:31:00.183
They implemented this practice in the lives.
00:31:00.183 --> 00:31:02.006
How many people went through this research?
00:31:02.006 --> 00:31:24.163
But their group of participants practiced this exercise of three good things each day for one week, and the significance of the enhancement of happiness and positive achievements in these people's lives was tremendous In just a week's time.
00:31:24.163 --> 00:31:26.890
They go on in the research to talk about.
00:31:26.890 --> 00:31:47.921
There was a small segment or subset of that group that went on beyond that and were able to experience even more happiness in their lives, and so I just want to encourage you to incorporate a practice like this in your day-to-day, and it takes just a few minutes and can have significant impacts.
00:31:49.824 --> 00:31:57.961
All right, I think I shared a lot, and I shared it fairly briefly here, but that was the essence of the challenge.
00:31:57.961 --> 00:32:12.874
I'm just thrilled that so many people shared with me the journey that they were on this week, the challenges that they've experienced and some of the setbacks, as well as their wins and their expansion of efforts.
00:32:12.874 --> 00:32:18.113
It's been exciting, it's been rewarding and I wanted to share that here with you Again.
00:32:18.113 --> 00:32:36.006
If you want to know more about what was included in that challenge the seven days worth of questions that I asked and reflection questions and the daily challenges you know they were fairly simple, being that I didn't want to give more than a bite-sized chunk each day.
00:32:36.006 --> 00:32:51.038
So there's, you know, not a lot of extra content, so to speak, in that, but I'm putting together that PDF, which those seven days of questions and challenges, as well as the resources that I provided throughout the week.
00:32:51.038 --> 00:33:06.813
If that's something you're interested in, shoot me an email at dan at danwus that's dan at danwus, and just put email PDF in the subject line and as soon as I have that ready, I'll be sure to send you over a copy.
00:33:09.481 --> 00:33:13.180
Moving on, I realize that we're in December.
00:33:13.180 --> 00:33:16.828
We're well into the month of December.
00:33:16.828 --> 00:33:23.008
At the time of this recording it is the 9th, so Monday You'll hear this tomorrow, hopefully.
00:33:23.008 --> 00:33:33.474
I'm working on something new and I know many of you are thinking about how to make 2025 the year you truly step into your coaching business.
00:33:33.474 --> 00:33:43.030
So that's exactly why I decided to open up five exclusive spots for new clients starting in January.
00:33:43.030 --> 00:33:55.183
I have already made the adjustments on my calendar to ensure that I can accommodate five new clients, or up to we'll say, up to five new clients starting as early as January.
00:33:56.847 --> 00:34:09.554
So this is an opportunity to work with me one-on-one, with a focus on building your business, you know, offering the help and support that you need in a way that feels aligned and authentic and impactful.
00:34:09.554 --> 00:34:14.960
And I'll say that these aren't just about coaching.
00:34:14.960 --> 00:34:16.887
They're about transformation.
00:34:16.887 --> 00:34:18.405
That's what we've been talking about today.
00:34:18.405 --> 00:34:35.233
So if you're ready to get clear on your vision, you overcome those distractions or limiting beliefs that have been holding you back, and you're ready to do the work to build the coaching business that you've been dreaming of or desiring in your world, then I'd love the opportunity to speak with you.
00:34:35.233 --> 00:34:45.911
If you're interested in this, then I'll share more here, but let me just say that I believe this is an unprecedented opportunity.
00:34:45.911 --> 00:35:05.045
Okay, I'll put it out there like that If you've ever considered hiring a coach to focus on what matters to you, or you've considered coaching with me at all, then I think this is the perfect opportunity to take that leap and kick off your 2025 with that level of personal support that you desire.
00:35:06.347 --> 00:35:11.010
And the application is simple it's always no obligation.
00:35:11.010 --> 00:35:15.713
In fact, I will meet with anyone who applies for this coaching with me.
00:35:15.713 --> 00:35:22.538
I'll meet with you for one full 90-minute session as my gift no strings, no expectations that you'll become a client.
00:35:22.538 --> 00:35:32.840
We won't only use this time to make sure that it's a great fit for both of us, but we'll work on uncovering those challenges, your desires and more.
00:35:32.840 --> 00:35:35.947
It's not about trying to sell you into coaching.
